Why HEAL?
Human trafficking is one of the world's most significant public health and human rights challenges. The International Labour Organization estimates that 49.6 million people are living in modern slavery worldwide. Research also shows that 68% of trafficking survivors interact with healthcare professionals during their exploitation, creating a critical opportunity for identification, intervention, and support.
HEAL Trafficking is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge, tools, and systems needed to recognize, respond to, and prevent human trafficking. Through evidence-based education, technical assistance, and survivor-centered collaboration, HEAL works with healthcare systems, government agencies, and community organizations to strengthen responses that improve care for individuals affected by trafficking.
