We’re excited to announce Human Trafficking: Foundations for Recognition and Response, the newest addition to HEAL’s regular learning series. This 90-minute live virtual session introduces HEAL’s core public health framework for understanding, identifying, and responding to human trafficking.

Course Overview:
Delivered for years as Human Trafficking 101 at hospitals, universities, and conferences worldwide, this foundational training now brings HEAL’s expertise directly to learners everywhere. More than a basic awareness course, Foundations for Recognition and Response helps participants build a shared understanding of what trafficking is, how it impacts health and well-being, and how professionals across sectors can recognize and respond effectively.
In this course, you’ll learn to:
- Clarify definitions, contexts, and common misconceptions about trafficking
- Explore how health systems intersect with trafficking prevention and response
- Apply foundational approaches such as trauma-informed care and survivor engagement
- Gain an introduction to HEAL’s PEARR Tool and Protocol Toolkit
